Partnership Agreement

Believers Academy recognizes and seeks to honor the central role that parents have in the education of their children. Therefore it is imperative that the parents and the school staff and administration maintain a good working relationship characterized by mutual trust, confidence, and cooperation in order for the academy to be able to accomplish its stated mission in the life of any individual student. If, at any point in time, that relationship breaks down, either party may unilaterally elect to terminate the association into which both voluntarily entered when the family and student(s) in question were first admitted to the school and enrolled in classes, the parents by withdrawing their child(ren) and the school by barring the child(ren) or family as a whole from further participation in any and all of the school’s programs, both curricular and extra-curricular. Specifically, all families, upon enrolling their children at Believers Academy, do so with the understanding that:

  1. Their participation as a family in BA is completely voluntary, in that they have neither the obligation nor the inherent right to have their children attend school here, and that they may withdraw their children from the school should they become dissatisfied with the school, its policies, or its practices.
  2. BA has the right and responsibility to admit those who meet its standards for admission (which include a willingness on the part of the parents to work in good faith with the school in the administration of all of its programs, including the parent participation elements of its programs), and to refuse admission to or revoke the admission of any who do not or cease to meet its standards for admission, including especially the requirement that the parents and the school staff and administration maintain a good working relationship of mutual trust, confidence, and cooperation.
  3. The academy’s administration has both the right and responsibility to oversee student and family conduct in all matters pertaining to the operation of the academy in whatever way it deems best for the well being of the families whom it serves, the students who attend, and the institution itself. This responsibility confers upon the administration the authority to suspend or expel students or to excuse them from attending classes when it deems such a measure to be in the best interest of the family, student, and/or the academy itself.
  4. Engaging in hostile action, such as but not limited to vandalism, slander, or lawsuit, against the academy will result in the immediate removal of their child(ren) from any and all of the academy’s programs, so that the educational program of the academy might not be disrupted.
  5. Repeated, consistent, or serious violations of academy policy, including but not limited to violations of the prescribed complaint procedures (which are based on instructions given by our Lord to believers in Matthew 18:15-17), may result in a family being dismissed from the academy.
  6. The academy, like other academic institutions, enjoys the freedom to design its curriculum and instructional practices, and to adopt supporting elements such as textbooks, in such a manner as it deems best for the furtherance of its purpose.
